Manufacturing Process
We follow a precision-controlled casting process to produce safe, leak-proof safety valve components. Every step is optimized to ensure reliability and long-term performance.
Optimized Mold Design: Guarantees uniform cavity shapes and accurate dimensions
Controlled Metal Flow: Reduces turbulence, porosity, and shrinkage defects
Stress-Relieving Heat Treatment: Improves toughness, durability, and structural integrity
High-Precision Machining: Ensures smooth sealing surfaces and exact tolerances
Comprehensive Inspection: Dimensional, visual, and functional checks for secure, reliable operation
Testing & Compliance
We ensure every safety valve casting meets international quality, performance, and safety standards through rigorous testing:
Dimensional Verification: CMM, calipers, and gauges for precise body, spring, and disc alignment
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Dye Penetrant, X-ray, and Ultrasonic inspection for internal and surface defects
Mechanical & Metallurgical Tests: Hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and microstructure analysis
Functional Testing: Pressure relief operation, disc and spring performance, hydrostatic pressure, and air tightness tests
Corrosion & Surface Testing: Coating adhesion, passivation quality, and optional salt spray testing
Standards Compliance: API 520 / 526, ASTM, ASME, DIN, EN, BS, JIS

Precision Investment Cast Safety Valve Components
Invent Cast is a leading safety valve casting manufacturer in India, specialising in precision investment-cast safety valve bodies, bonnets, discs, and nozzles for pressure relief applications across oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, and industrial systems. Manufactured in Rajkot, Gujarat, our safety valve castings are produced to API 520 / API 526 compliance and are export-ready with full material traceability and NDT documentation.
What Is Safety Valve Casting? & Why Investment Casting Is the Right Method?
A safety valve is a critical pressure-relief device installed in boilers, pressure vessels, pipelines, and industrial systems to automatically release excess pressure and prevent catastrophic failure. The body, bonnet, disc, and nozzle of a safety valve must withstand sudden pressure surges, high temperatures, and chemically aggressive media, making material selection and dimensional accuracy non-negotiable.
Investment casting, also called lost wax casting, is the manufacturing method of choice for safety valve components because it produces near-net-shape parts with complex internal geometries, smooth sealing surfaces, and tight dimensional tolerances in a single production step. Compared to sand casting, investment casting delivers a superior surface finish (Ra 3.2-6.3 µm as-cast vs Ra 12.5+ µm in sand casting) and better dimensional accuracy, critical for the seat and disc sealing surfaces of a safety valve, where even minor surface irregularity causes leakage at set pressure.
At Invent Cast, we use the silica sol investment casting process with robotic shelling, ensuring uniform shell thickness, zero porosity, and consistent dimensional accuracy on every safety valve casting. Our process is optimised for the complex body geometries and tight tolerances that safety valve manufacturers and OEMs demand.

Why Safety Valve OEMs Choose Invent Cast
- Drawing-based manufacturing — every safety valve casting is produced strictly to your drawing with no assumptions. Dimensions, tolerances, and material are locked to your specification.
- Robotic shelling — our automated shelling process eliminates porosity and shell defects critical in pressure-retaining safety valve bodies.
- API 520 / 526 compliant castings — bodies and bonnets manufactured to API 526 dimensional requirements with full orifice-letter compliance from D through T.
- Complete material traceability — EN 10204 3.1 material test certificates, chemical composition reports, and heat treatment records supplied with every order.
- IBR-compatible documentation we support Indian Boiler Regulation documentation requirements for boiler and pressure vessel applications in India and export markets.
- Machined sealing surfaces seat and nozzle seating surfaces machined to Ra 0.8 µm for API 527-compliant tightness, eliminating the need for buyer-side lapping.
- Export-ready supply we export safety valve castings to OEMs in the USA, Germany, UK, Italy, Middle East, and across Asia with full export documentation.
- 25–40 day sample lead time from drawing approval to first article inspection report, significantly faster than European foundry alternatives.
